Aim of the Workshop:
Charm physics plays a deep role in many areas of flavour physics, ranging from providing constraints on new physics sensitive observables, fundamental tests of the Standard Model through providing precision measurements to test theoretical calculations against. The role of data collected at charm threshold is special, as in addition to providing a sample of extremely clean D mesons to study, one can use quantum correlated neutral D mesons produced at threshold to measure observables that would otherwise be inaccessible. This workshop will discuss the benefits of measurements made at charm threshold at existing experiments, i.e. BESIII, and explore the potential for measurements in the future, in particular also considering the possible benefit of having a boosted centre of mass that has been proposed for the SuperB experiment. The important role of charm threshold physics plays for other heavy flavour experiments such as BelleII and LHCb will also be discussed.
